Let's not forget that both sides have been ridiculous in this debate.

The liberals have been a mite less ridiculous. I haven't heard any racial slurs or death threats coming from supporters of health care reform, nor have there been reports of spitting from the left side of the debate.

That's generally because many of them are supporters or at least "trust Obama" regardless. They should be perceivably less ridiculous if they have nothing to really be pissed off about. They are happy as heck.

Some of them don't know exactly why they're happy because they don't know what the health bill entails. They know just enough to justify being happy.
Nah...I wouldn't necessarily agree. There were people demonstrating for health care reform in DC trying to get Congress to add a public option. They're pretty mad, too, but they aren't "spitting" mad.

I feel as though people want quick fixes and overnight remedies for everything. For example, people acted like Obama was going to end the recession and the war. The smart people realize that these things are compromises and good starts. Or, they can be complete FAILS but you never know until it either succeeds or fails.
For a lot of those people, the bill isn't a good start. If you listen to them talk, they are pretty angry, but it doesn't go beyond normal civil discourse. There is a faction in this country that is very anti-private insurance, and any bill that mandates every citizen buy a private insurance policy is borderline evil. You might remember hearing about them when they were completely locked out of discussion early in the debate when a single payer system was ruled out. These people are not appeased.
