Four out of five of the uninsured were in working families.
http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/03/04...pidemic.obama/
Are they lazy? The ones who work but their employers don't provide health insurance? Oh? Should they get new jobs with employers that provide it? Problem is, there are not enough jobs with employers who provide health insurance for everybody to have such a job.

AGDee, I see your point. The only issue I have is that people are in charge of their own destiny. In fact, as a college student in a graduate program, I no longer have health care. Did I choose this lifestyle? Yes. I chose to be in graduate school. It is like teachers who "strike" for more pay. It annoys me because they knew they were going into a job which paid them about $35,000 a year (which is more than many caseworkers make) and they get 3 months off for summer break, yet they think they are entitled to more money. Then, some of those teachers get summer jobs. I mean, really?
If you chose a career path with little to no insurance, that is your own fault. I am owning up to my choice to not have it. It sucks. Yes, but I chose to go back to school. Thoughts?

You talk about teachers (which you aren't, and really have no idea about)

I bet you stood behind them, didn't you?
Wow, it never ceases to amaze me.

Yeah it never ceases to amaze me the shit you come up with too. You are more than welcome to your opinion, just like I'm welcome to mine. But when you decide to insult people and things you have NO IDEA about (even though you claim to) then that is where the problem comes in.
ETA: People have told you STOP replying to Rasputn...aka MadMax. How about you do a search for "madmax" and see if you can figure out why.

She has a job. That means no time for searches! Or reading! Or comprehension!
We should take care of it, since we're all lazy and using up unemployment anyway.

Right? I guess I should just wait on that letter from my org saying how disappointed they are in me, and how I make them all look bad. Sorry Jill

Maybe I'm mistaken...but didn't this chick say that she DIDN'T have a job in that long drawn out thread about people who don't have jobs being lazy? I don't want to read through all of it but I swear I thought she said she quit her job and is now a full time student.

As someone who is very involved with the Alumni chapters and her own collegiate chapter, I might just put my signature back in. I don't make Phi Mu look bad, people who go around complaining about not being able to find jobs with a college education (and years of experience) make their orgs. look bad.
I think this whole ObamaCare thing is stupid. I said it, I believe it. I don't give a damn if people in here appreciate my feelings, but last time I checked this was a chatroom for people to discuss their thoughts.

I just thought I'd QPF, even though she's already been quoted. I know there are Phi Mu Nationals members who lurk, specifically high up ones who happen to be from Michigan, who happen to know how bad our economy is and may have been affected by it. So, I'm glad you think highly of our sisters, because I am not the only one in this situation.
There's a reason why NPC orgs do not allow their members to wear letters on shows like The Real World. GC is getting just as bad and maybe they should start implementing (sp? wtf) that rule here. I cannot say how embarrassed I am right now.

I think you're right. She posted her resume` around the middle of that thread before the thread went further into fluff.

Please, please, please don't bring the Jena 6 into this. That is a tiny, backwards hole in the wall in north Louisiana. There are so many facets to that story that you don't know about, and that no one outside the state of Louisiana knows about. Those kids were not treated fairly, and several white kids got away with some pretty bad things. In the end a few of the 6 got arrested for crimes later and people want to say, "See, they're just thugs and got what they deserved." Which is crap. What they did is wrong, but the punishment should fit the crime.

I'm betting if you suffer a premature stroke or heart attack and end up in ICU, you will also happily accept those services from the hospital, which eats the cost because YOU chose not to have health insurance.
A mechanic wouldn't fix your car without you paying them. Why should hospitals have to care for people who choose not to have insurance? THIS is the main reason that health care is so expensive (among many other reasons, admittedly). The health care system I work for GAVE AWAY more than $150,000,000 in free health care last year alone. Why? Because they HAVE TO BY LAW.
Your lifestyle choice can cost others a lot of money. The government or parent subsidized health insurance available to you under this plan costs LESS in the long run.

Well, they don't eat the cost, exactly. They pass it along to the rest of us.
