I have a problem with people who use Plan B as birth control instead of using one or more readily available forms of birth control and using the Plan B for a real emergency situation, as it was intended. I have met college women who have been so intoxicated they weren't sure if they had sex or used any form of protection, so they take a Plan B after partying "just to be safe" because pregnancy is so much worse than herpes or HPV.
Plus it is much cheaper to buy condoms and something else (foam, sponge, so on) than it is for Plan B three time a month (yes, three times, once for every weekend, the other week she had her period so she knew she was okay). Plan B is $50 but you can buy it in bulk from
www.drugstore.com with no prescription. I blame abstinence only sex education and lack of good information on how our bodies work for people abusing Plan B, let alone the idiocy of not being aware of sexual activity or protection due to alcohol and drug abuse.
Oh and here's a funny, right next to the register of my pharmacy is the sexual health area (Plan B, condoms, pregnancy & ovulation tests) and right next to the Plan B is a paternity test! The package has all kinds of information for using it for legal purposes in court, but wouldn't going on Maury be cheaper?
