ooh ooh, can an old person play? In 1972 we wore long straight hair, peace sign necklaces, vertical striped bell bottom hip huggers, Minnetonka moccasins with fringe on them (ankle high booties) and leather jackets with 6" of fringed leather on the sleeves, middle and bottom. Our prom dresses were empire waist often satin with Venice lace over the bodice and sleeves(many were home-made, hey, we all had to take sewing in Home Ec).
In 1969 (my freshman year) we still had teased up bouffant hair, black eyeliner, white lipstick (Yardley of London), and we had to wear dresses to class. Many dresses were short, psychodelic colorful patterns. Only in 1971 did they abandon the dress rule and let us wear "pantsuits" matching tops and bottoms. Bobbie Brooks was a brand sold at nice dept. stores. Now it's at Dollar General. lol.
