The daughter of the past national president of APO (who pledged my chapter) pledged a neighboring chapter to mine. The only thing that was different is that dad didn't know daughter was pledging until he came to the initiation.
awww special (It's usually the parent that surprises the child at initiation, but the entire chapter kept her a secret until the very end)
