There is no such thing as Nationals. So that's what made me at your post. National Convention, yes. Nationals, never.

Sorry. Where I'm from, we call it Nationals. I'll change it.

It's not about where you're from. I've heard "Nationals" north and south, east and west from the newest neophyte to chapter officers. It still does not make it right. However, we only have one national headquarters. As that is a singular entity, nationals is incorrect.
When referring to attending the national convention, just say you're going to convention. Just like we shouldn't say that we are attending regionals even if you are going to attend the regional conference for Mighty Midwest and Sensational South Atlantic. You can just say you are going to the conference.
If you say "nationals" to the wrong Soror, you might get your feelings hurt.
Knowledge is power. Now it's time to put it to use.

Dear Dennis:
I was watching the BCS Championship game last night (sponsored by Allstate, of course) and I enjoyed your new commericals. Well, most of them. In one commercial, you were wearing an ugly gray cardigan a la Mr. Rogers. Hubby said it made you look like someone's "crusty granddaddy." Normally, I would defend you, but I had to laugh right along with Hubby. You looked as if you should have been advertising diabetes testing supplies, Life Alert pendants, and/or asking me to be your neighbor (to which I would say YES! ) instead of Allstate. In the future, please run all clothing choices by me.
Happy 2008,
Your Biggest Fan 9dstpm
