Dear 2007,
You treated me a whole lot better than 2003-2006. I had an incredible job in which I met a lot of new people and decided to go in the library profession. I didn't loose anyone in my family this year. Lost a lot of weight. There were some imposters that I thought that were right for me, but by the end of the year, someone did show up who has a lot of potential (even though it's long distance). And you brought me back home at the end of the year to start 2008 right. Even though I am broke, a lot of lessons were learned and I am grateful for them.
Dear 2008:
New job starts Monday. National Convention in Orlando. Happiness all around. Next up, getting into grad school. Let's do this!!!!

Dear 2007,
You were a kick azz year even with the few bumps and disappointments along the way! I'm happy about the good that happened in 2007, learning from the bad, and not holding on to the foolishness -- the little that there was.
Dear 2008,
I'm just going to build upon 2007, stay committed to health and exercise, look forward to what I expect to happen this year, and hope for some wonderful surprises. Any setbacks and disappointments will be added to the lesson learned board.

There is no such thing as Nationals. So that's what made me at your post. National Convention, yes. Nationals, never.

**putting on my Big Sister Protocol Attire**
It's not about where you're from. I've heard "Nationals" north and south, east and west from the newest neophyte to chapter officers. It still does not make it right. However, we only have one national headquarters. As that is a singular entity, nationals is incorrect.
When referring to attending the national convention, just say you're going to convention. Just like we shouldn't say that we are attending regionals even if you are going to attend the regional conference for Mighty Midwest and Sensational South Atlantic. You can just say you are going to the conference.
If you say "nationals" to the wrong Soror, you might get your feelings hurt.
Knowledge is power. Now it's time to put it to use.

Dear little Brother,
You are 16. We (mom, dad, and I ) are really trying to understand WTF is going on with you. Please stop talking back to our parents. When I was your age I got popped in the mouth for that kind of stuff. You are following your 'friends' and I am sick of it. Do not tell me what you are going to do when you have children, because you do not know how you will behave when certain events arise. You are being a huge pain in the rear!! We love you, but if you keep this up mom will probably put up in the hospital.
Let's get it together....please.
Your big sister, who gave you your name.
Dear Lord,
Please help my family. My brother is making my mothers stress level too high and health consequences are a result. It has been a hard couple of years with him, but I know that all things are possible.
In your Son Jesus Name I pray.

Dear 2007
Thankfully you have come and gone. I had to leave a few things with you and don't be bringing them back up please. There is a reason why they need to stay in 07. You created them so you keep them. It could have been better but I survived.
Dear 2008
So far you have started out on a good foot for the new year. Let's keep this momentum going and hopefully the AKA's won't be the only ones celebrating in 2008. . Going from 0 job interviews to 2 in 2 days I am ever so grateful. So let's keep it going! Thank you Lord from whom all blessings flow! I am still trying to grow in grace so I thank you for the journey so far, good and bad.
Your child
Me...
