Open Letter 8
 

To 2007: You were a good year. In '07, I decided to not let things stress me in life, at work and otherwise. I stuck to that and probably enjoyed the best year of my adult life...so far!

To 2008: They say the way you bring in the new year is how you'll spend the new year. I sure hope so because I brought in the new year with friends that I know love me and have my best interest in heart; with people that I know pray for me and not prey on me. One of the best feelings in the world is to feel loved.

To the 2008 Me: You have such control of things right now. You're getting the finances in order. You're in a good place at work. What does this mean? This means that God is preparing you for something so get ready!

To anyone who can't get with my program: Do you say something? Uh-uh, you can't tell me NOTHIN'

Wow your boy 07 did that so I have high expecations for you too! :cool:
Here is to sticking to saving 10% of what we make and tithing 10%, heres to making the shift into all that God promised and since you mark the beginning of my 30's I am hoping this will be a great decade!

Dear 2007:
Thank God you are behind me!! I have to admit that you have been one of the worst years in my adult life. But I know God took me through the trials and tribulations for a reason. There were momentss where I completely lost myself and didn't have any direction in my life. But now I know the reason... The best is yet to come!

Dear 2008:
The year of New Beginning! Thank you Jesus!

Dear 2007,

You were a tumultuous but exciting year, for in 2007, I crossed the burning sands into Delta Sigma Theta land!

Thank God that you are gone, though!

PLEASE bring less stress!

Dear 2007,

I want to thank you for the "Faith building excersies" called stress, pain, faliure. I appreciate them because each emotion moved me in the direction that I need to go. I know that "all works together for the good of those who love the Lord". Today I welcome the opportunity to grow my relationship with God in a new and refreshed way. The clouds have rolled back and I can see His face. As 2008 pushes on I pray that I will continue to grow stronger not only for myself but for those I may encounter. So, 2007 I thank you for the journey....I got knocked down but THANK YOU JESUS that God picked me up, dusted me off...and gave me one more year, day and moment to get it RIGHT!

Dear 2007:
Everything that I wanted to say has been said in the above posts. You truly were the year from hell. And I thank you for the lessons that being in that place has taught me. I know that He has nothing but blessings and rewards for me in 2008.

Dear 2008:
I thank you in advance for whatever is in store for me this year. I am already a victor because I am His child and am already forgiven. I am so ready for whatever you throw at me! So come on and BRING IT!!!!!! Let's do this.

I thought you were gonna be great.. but you drop that shyt on me, and I don't like that. My heart is hurt and my hope is fading fast.. but I want to get the job so I can go.. and phuc his world up by him knowing I am doing very well and after tears and anger, that I have gotten even better! But.. you better do right by me, 2008.. or I will phuc you up too.

Dear New Year,

Last year was tough! I guess 2006 was the calm before the storm. I have an interview next week and I am hoping the best!!!

I hope that the baggage is gone forever. I wish him the best as I always have.

You will get that new job and you won't even think about ol buddy when you get it because you will be celebrating YOUR achievement and the wonderful things to come for YOU! If you happen to have a hot date or two that is even better!!:)

Dear 2007,

You treated me a whole lot better than 2003-2006. I had an incredible job in which I met a lot of new people and decided to go in the library profession. I didn't loose anyone in my family this year. Lost a lot of weight. There were some imposters that I thought that were right for me, but by the end of the year, someone did show up who has a lot of potential (even though it's long distance). And you brought me back home at the end of the year to start 2008 right. Even though I am broke, a lot of lessons were learned and I am grateful for them.

Dear 2008:

New job starts Monday. National Convention in Orlando. Happiness all around. Next up, getting into grad school. Let's do this!!!! :)

Dear 2007,
You were a kick azz year even with the few bumps and disappointments along the way! I'm happy about the good that happened in 2007, learning from the bad, and not holding on to the foolishness -- the little that there was.

Dear 2008,
I'm just going to build upon 2007, stay committed to health and exercise, look forward to what I expect to happen this year, and hope for some wonderful surprises. Any setbacks and disappointments will be added to the lesson learned board.

2007,
You showed me how love can have you high one minute and drop u down to below sea level the next. And through it all, I still want to give my love to someone who isn't deserving. I know that I have to go through some frogs to get to my prince that you have for me! But in '08 can you take the desire away from me! ETA: 2007 brought some kick arse friends that I know will be there for me 'til the end!!!

2008,
I am letting it all go! I have adopted Just Fine as my theme song and I will not put anyone's needs or wants in front of my NEEDS and WANTS. I strive to continue to knock out debt, save, and have a closer relationship with G-O-D!
