I am a Tums popper as well, but I figure that at least I am getting some extra calcium.
Oh, and the best baby gift I recieved was a prenatal massage. I am a stomach sleeper, so being stuck on my sides while preganant is killing me. But when you have a prenatal massage, the table has a belly-hole in it, and you get to lie on your stomach. that alone was wonderful!

Kinda along this line, anyone who is pregnant should swim as much as possible during the last trimester. It's amazing how much better your back will feel when you've been in the water - weightlessness is a pregnant woman's (or at least, THIS pregnant woman's) dream! So, find a pool, lake, ocean, etc., and get comfortable again!

When I was pregnant, I read in a book (wish I remembered which one!) that those holes weren't good for you. I had a few massages during my pregnancy, and I lay on my side for the entire time. Of course, they didn't help my back pain one bit, but they were certainly fun!

I haven't been in the family way in a long time (youngest is 13). The D caused morning sickness and all-day queasiness. I think I got sick only once during the 9 months with the boy.
Related to the hole-in-the-massage-table-story--
Swimming (or just being in the water) was a great way to reduce back pain. My oldest was born in the fall. I was a SAH Army wife so consequently spent a lot of time at the O Club pool that summer with the other LT wives. Older moms said I was going to "boil" the baby in utero but since my OB discounted that, I continued to go to the pool. Anyway, since I had a big tummy and couldn't lay on my front, I was only 1/2 tan. When LT Alum finally got some time off that summer, we headed down to Hilton Head where I promptly dug a hole in the sand each morning to accomodate the big mound so I could get my back-half tan...

We took our boys to a friend's pool yesterday, and I discovered that one inflatable ring and two pool noodles can make a perfect pregancy float! I laid on top of the ring (put my belly in the ring) then put my feet on one pool noodle and my arms & head on the other. I probably looked like a whale floating around on my stomach, but it was wonderful!
