It sounds more likely that she had a "relationship" with someone on that cell phone number and thats why they called her. (Voting, using that number as a contact when purchasing, etc. can all be "relationships")

Drole.....umm no...this isn't an urban legend...this happened. I talked to her today...she even checked to make sure that somehow someone else wasn't using her phone....so hey...if it is illegal...sounds like she may have a case on her hands....

You missed her point entirely.

She was saying that it likely did happen, but not because of "telemarketing" (so the "do not call" list wouldn't matter) . . . most likely, she gave the cell # out as part of some promotion, or in a 'fishbowl' giveaway, or signing up for something. This means she can be called, generally, because it's outlined in the fine print - so yeah. No case, no "do not call" list will matter, and no one else was using her phone.

OK...gotcha...here is the hitch tho.....my mom barely remembers her own number...heck she calls me from it 1/2 the time so I can give it to her.....lol...someone else gave it out probably.....and she doesn't have that many people calling her on her phone (she's stingy with her mins....)
