But in
She's in Love with the Boy the mom was supportive of the relationship as the "boy" reminded her of her husband/the father as he was also a hayseed plow boy. There was no mention of an approving mother in Taylor's song, just daddy and a white dress. Often a father will dislike a boy because he is protective of his daughter and a mother will straighten him out; Taylor was pulling a Disney with a single father with a willful daughter who wasn't really willful because she was just waiting for a guy to get on one knee, propose, and to get a white dress.
