Kanye West
I don't know one way or another....but how much did Kanye actually donate.
I looked around a little bit for an actual figure, but I couldn't find one. It would be ironic if after his tirade he only donated like 10k.

It's interesting that you really feel a need to find a dollar amount that Mr. West contributed to the Hurricane Katrina fund vs. the content of his remarks (some of Bush's policies & actions does speak volumes in support of what Mr. West stated.) Mr. West's comments did produce a reaction and cast a huge spotlight on the Bush administration's position on people of color as well as people of lower socio-economic status. Now to address your question on how much Mr. West gave I believe he and others gave cash and performed @ benefit concerts in which the proceeds went towards the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Basically his holier than thou attitude about the entire ordeal and the fact that he said he would personally donate as much as his financial advisor said he could afford brought this quesiton to my mind. I'm not talking about the benefit concert-that's a different event. I wonder how much he personally, being a multi-millionaire, donated given his earlier comments.

I didn't see a holier then thou attitude I saw a young man making a statement that was filled w/ compassion about a situation that was being mishandled thus causing the lost of life.

The answer is it doesnot matter.....I'm sure the victims of Katrina are very pleased w/ what Mr. West contributed be it in the form of cash or lending his talents to benefit concerts that garnered help for those who really needed it.

I think it does matter. Kanye said he was going to do something, and used that to try and further his own agenda, and I'm interested in if he was true to his word.

Well since we don't know how much his financial advisor said he could afford or how much he gave let's just be pleased that he did do something. As far as having an agenda he didn't have to make this statement to do that his talent alone is providing any lifts that he needs and the verdict is still out about his status as a multi-millionaire.

Will you be matching what ever Kayne West donated, if he has donated? If not, who cares?

If anyone actually cares, the charity donations for Katrina are considered an incredible loophole setup by the government.
You are able to deduct 100% as opposed to 50% and this has set off a race by corporations, the very wealthy, and the charities that want their money.

Well, how much did George W. Bush donate?
Whoever donated the most cares more about black people!

I only donated $100...but I promise I care about black people!!!
I don't like Kanye...not because of the tirade, b/c I think he's a hypocrite. All talking about Jesus walks but acting like a conceited ass when he wins awards...

A million is a lot. I figured that he could afford at least that much. I haven't actually seen anywhere that it actually said how much he donated though.

No, but I am curious after the way he acted about the entire thing.

Doesn't have anything to do with the topic at hand.
