I don't know what you all are debating here. LOL.
Anyway, Kanye and Lil Mama should get married.

Is gay marriage legal in New York?

Man.. his apology on Leno was awkward. 'How do you think your [dead] mother feels about this?'
Hm. And then he went and performed.. even more awkward feeling!

I doubt that ANY apology from him is sincere. It's all a publicity stunt from him and WOW he has a tour coming up? Perfect timing.

Can't believe you put Kayne West in the same sentence with Madonna U2 and Michael Jackson. He's not even in the same league with them.
Jay-Z and Beyonce will be up with the other 3. Kayne West, I don't think so.
Oh, Obama think Kayne is a "jackass"

But in She's in Love with the Boy the mom was supportive of the relationship as the "boy" reminded her of her husband/the father as he was also a hayseed plow boy. There was no mention of an approving mother in Taylor's song, just daddy and a white dress. Often a father will dislike a boy because he is protective of his daughter and a mother will straighten him out; Taylor was pulling a Disney with a single father with a willful daughter who wasn't really willful because she was just waiting for a guy to get on one knee, propose, and to get a white dress.
To be serious though, I am just at the lyrics of so many songs when it comes to grammar and content. I know it makes me an old lady sitting on my porch in my rocking chair with a shot gun, but the horrible music I enjoy, I know is horrible. I mean who takes the Wu-Tang Clan seriously?

I am so sick of the Kanye West dick-riding in this thread and in real life.

PM_Mama, I agree. You're right. As I was studying last night, I was watching tv off and on and they were talking about him and his "apology". At first, I thought it was sincere, but then I started thinking it wasn't. According to Inside Edition, he was also caught drinking too.
lol @ the tour comment.

I walked into college believing that's exactly how it'd be. Forget that it was set in the 80s, I really thought that's what college in 2003 would look like. And btw...those flip ups made my heart skip a beat. Every. single. time.
I'm appalled at the things I'm seing on Facebook:
1. She deserved it b/c she should've known better than to give the mic to Kanye.
2. She deserved it b/c she sings country and shouldn't have gotten a VMA anyway.
3. She deserved it b/c if she hadn't gone and beat Beyonce, it wouldn't have happened.
Yes, they were all dead serious.

As far as the debate on Taylor's song content-I'm not really satisfied with it. Her target audience sure is though. But I can't listen to her talk about how "unattractive" she is because at the end of the day she can take off the glasses and nerdy clothes (which didn't make her ugly anyway) and still be gorgeous, a lot of her fans probably can't do that. It's just repetitive. But the songs are cute and catchy.
I love Kanye. I feel bad for Taylor. But Kanye makes a large portion of my late musical world go round and I believe that his work will span more time overall as it is musically creative and very "out there".
He shouldn't have interrupted, but it's not like he hasn't done it before. People were cheering when he did it (if you listen) and then when Taylor made that face (they should have let her finish-MTV did NOT help!) it all went down hill from there. His behavior deserves no excuse, but it's not like he's never done it before-it's Kanye being Kanye.
He just happpened to do it to a young teenage girl who looks like a Christmas Angel and makes really good sad faces and I don't think people will every get over that soon, not even me to some extent. I think if it had been almost anyone else, we wouldn't be talking about it THIS much, especially not in this way.

I like alot of Kanye West's songs (even though I'm an old lady - kids introduced his music to me), but he lost his "shine" for me long before the Taylor Swift thing (who to me is relevant like Miley Cyrus is relevant - they are both huge - with the teeny bopper crowd and if they can mature musically, then maybe they'll have a chance, if not, they'll go the way of Leif Garrett).
When I lost respect for Kanye West was when I saw him perform live - HE SUCKS BIG TIME! Guy cannot sing - it was PAINFUL!! I gave it a pass the first time, because, hey, everybody has a bad day - BUT, I have now been subjected to a number of "live performances" and the best ones are the ones he obviously is lip syncing to -
All the people mentioned above as icons could get up with a microphone and belt out a tune accapella and we'd all be amazed. If Kanye tried doing that the dog would start howling - He is a genius songwriter, but he can't sing or perform - please pull your pants up/

Worst song I've ever heard live: Kanye West singing Love Lockdown.
2nd worse: BEP singing I Gotta Feeling
But that's a separate convo.
But seriously, he sounds HORRIBLE live when he "sings." Rappers need to stick to rapping. Period.
