I have just realized that we are living totally different ways. I wanted to jus chill with peeps I haven't seen in a long time after putting in over 37 hours of travel and then job training, but NOOOO that is not possible! Why is it that three of you come with the person picking me up and then you all loudly discuss some txt message one of you recieved from some childish broad talkin about her baby daddy and ish? I jus wanted to chill but after about an hour of listening to different drama stories (some funny and some jus ignant) I was worn out. I now realize that I am on a totally different path. Yall are 20 and still moochin off of parents. Im traveling, giving key note speeches, presentations, gettin scholarships, stressin about gettin money for school, workin an internship, leaving one internship early to start another, and workin to ESTABLISH three orgs on campus this year (at least the orgs are national and exist off campus so I have a lot of help). WTF are yall doin? Nadadamnthang. And then you have the nerve to get mad and get an attitude and then asked to be taken home (all before I get some food! and I hadn't eaten in 37 hours!) because I wanna go somewhere you don't to get some food. Damn. Yall are so played!

Dear 20 Year Old Self,

You were bright, young and cute... but also very naive, self-doubting and painfully insecure. You let people define you and make you feel less than magnificent. You made decisions based on external influences instead of following your heart. You had big dreams and lofty ambitions.. but you let people convince you that you were not good enough to acheive them. How could you not know your potential... your purpose... your worth?

Thank you so much for those verses! While watching Joyce Meyer one morning, she stated that we need to start asking God for favor. So, prior to the interview, I asked God for favor and I TRULY believed that He heard my prayers and allowed me to have a great interview. Honestly, I went in there stating that the job was mine and when I left, I KNEW that I had that job. That's how good I felt.

I felt even better the next day when my line sister saw my future boss at work (she works in the same courthouse) and he told her that he had met with me and two other classmates of ours. I felt good because he recalled me by name and not the other two applicants, even though I was first. That gave me the feeling that I made a lasting impression. But somewhere along the way, I started doubting myself. It really hit me the other day because I was waiting for a follow-up call from my boss when I got a text message about another job. That prompted me to start doubting and I took that text as a sign that I may not get my position.

After I posted the Open Letter tonight, I sent an email to an old schoolmate and was telling her about the job and how I was confident I would get it. However, everytime my confidence gets high, the devil starts planting seeds of doubt in my mind. Lo and behold, when I came back to read this thread, you had used the exact words I just used in that email! I MUST stand firm on my faith and stop allowing the devil to make me doubt myself.

Just two or three weeks ago in Mass, we were told that we must not be so quick to doubt and abandon the fact that God hear our prayers. I know that I am quick to doubt. I guess it's my defense mechanism. That way, when things fail, I can say that I always knew they would. But I realize that it's more self-sabotage because I allow the devil to take me off track. But NOT THIS TIME, buddy!!

I must stand firm on the same faith that I went in and left out with. When my phone rings on Monday, victory SHALL be mine! This is MY job!

I need to start packing today since I'm bored out of my mind. The position begins on Sept. 15, so I'm going to be moving. I'll be moving to Monroe. It's a small city/town in North La. It should be a good change of pace. There is actually little to no "pace" there, but I think that will be good for me to spend some time getting to know myself. I'm excited about it. Plus, it's good experience AND a paycheck! LOL! Dear RD:
Sometimes an email works. You can say what you want to say and literally let it go. I had a falling out with two of my closest friends, and there were a few nasty emails, then nothing. Then about 4 months later, an email from one and we are back to where we were, almost. Do something. At least you would have tried.


Dear everyone:
Life is short. A client that I spoke to on Monday has passed away. She has a 4 year old son. I don't know the details, but it just reminds me, again, of how short life truly is. Enjoy it while you are here.
