Exclamation

I am often amazed at what people will actually allow to come out of their mouths in this forum. I understand everyone has a right to their opinion but some need not speak before they think. In Florida there have been numerous allegations of wrongdoings that is no fault of the voter but those in charge. According to some of the voters in Palm Beach County, there were complaints that the ballots were confusing because of the positioning of canidates and this was BEFORE November 7th. In fact, here in Orange County, we had a ballot similar to the one they used before and it can be very confusing because the arrows are not exactly positioned directly in front of the canidate. The NAACP has been listening to testimonies all day today from various communities and some of these stories are astonishing to say the least. The most incredible was the finding of a voting box at a church in Hillsborough County. Kwesi Mfume sent investigators to the police precinct to confirm this allegation that a police officers offered as testimony. The investigators came back with confimation and a photograph of the locked box. They have yet to investigate the contents of the box. The people who gave their testimony reminded me of stories from the past when people were not allowed to vote using any means such as tests, Grandfather Clause, intimidations, etc. I take my right to vote very seriously. One reason is because my grandmother and great grandmother narrowly escaped injury or death along with other families who were forced to leave all that they owned behind simply because a Black man tried to exercise his right to vote. This happened in 1922 in the city of Ocoee, Florida. Therefore, I do not take any of these issues lightly. To put it bluntly: there is a huge problem in Florida. Many have been DENIED the right to vote which is a constitutional right. If you want more direct information about the issues surrounding this, you can watch C-SPAN.
