The Fix is on!!!

I am afraid that this race in Florida is being illegally handeled and sabotaged by the governor of Florida. It is a shame and Americans shoud not stand by idle and let this happen... I urge you all to pray for the Gore campaign and get the Devil out of the voting process.

I agree.

Have you heard all of the racist comments coming out over this. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/mad.gif

We all need to pray because I really fear http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif that something is about to go down and it's not good.

southernbelle 11-09-2000 06:03 PM

Point of information: We all know that regardless of who wins, there is going to be fingerpointing and accusations flying all over.

MissSunshine 11-09-2000 06:39 PM

East Coast Sunshine, what racist comments? I haven't heard anything.

LadyAKA 11-09-2000 07:06 PM

Here goes another 'I heard' - Gore filed a law suit about the 1900+ ballots that were thrown out and the courts dismissed it ... no if, ands or buts ...
yall tell me if I am wrong, cause I am in a closed building and I should not be on the web so CNN is not a place I can surf all day long.

MsAnn 11-09-2000 08:58 PM

LadyAKA, I don't know about Gore, but I heard on the news today that some voters in Florida filed a lawsuit on the grounds that the ballots on which they voted were confusing. They claim that they thought they were voting for Gore, when actually their votes went to Buchanan (sp.). It had something to do with the way the ballots were set up. The judge has allowed the claim and said it will be handled promptly.

All I have to say on this topic is...COURPTION(SP) IN THE AIR...IF BUSH WINS IT WON'T BE BECAUSE HE WAS BEING FAIR....LET US PRAY GORE COMES OUT ON TOP

All is well in Florida. Floridians need to pay more attention to detail when making such an important decision as the president of the United States. It's not the governors fault. I'm glad, now the person who would be best for the country will become president.

How can you say that all is well in Florida or for our country? "Best president for the country?" Do not get me wrong everyone has a right to their own opinion. I live in Texas and the only time you hear about George Bush prior to this election is something dealing with executions. As far as I am concerned he has not done anything so great for his own state. Back to the issue at hand, there is obviously a major problem. In the course of a day going to work, school, home, out, and the internet everything relating to the elections deals with Florida. Yes there is a problem and I pray that it will be resolved soon and correctly.
LadyAKA, last I heard there were 19,000 ballots thrown out... In my particular area unfortunately there were 250 marked ballots found at a local school on yesterday that will not be included.
Sorry for the long post.
I had to edit the post to avoid the direction this topic was going.

Though I have made comments about this off and on since Tuesday I have come to the realization that there is nothing that any of us can do; I mean we can protest and write letters, e-mails and make phone calls but seriously Florida is severely messed up and anyone that thinks it is not, is also messed up (IMHO-in my honest opinion). And I know in the past there have been irregularities in voting and votes have been thrown out and even in other states during this election, things got messed up, but they had to know all eyes would be on Florida because it is jeb bush town. And as close as this race was proposed to be, we should have been ready for this, someone is always trying to mess up a good thing.

No matter the outcome, whoever wins, our nation will suffer now, everything is tainted (people, ideas, States, Congress, families are divided). We need to do it all over again, but that has never been heard of. We look like serious idiots to outside communist nations, we talk about democracy and can't get our own shit right. So like I said there is nothing left for us to do, except PRAY, and I am sorry that was not my first thought, I should not be saying all we can do is PRAY, that should have been the first thing we all did and then maybe we would not be in this predicament. Anyway, I will humble myself to the lord, get on my knees, PRAY and just wait. I can't even watch the TV any more, we keep getting special reports and breaking news leads....my stomach has not been good since Tuesday night. I can't take it!!! What is done in the he dark will come to light. Our nation will be stressed for a long while to come after this, it does not matter who is president now ....the next 4 years are going to be hell - the arguments are not going to end. And I feel very sorry for all of us.
As one of my Sorors stated, I can picture the mass exodus to Canada or some surrounding islands - The United States is about to lose it place in the ranks if we don't get a grip, and soon.

Lastly, I really don't understand why we don't have national standards on voting. What the hell is Florida and Chicago still doing using punch hole ballots, some states have computers, yet still others, namely my home town, has pull down/up levers ...what the hell is this mess. And we lead the Tech era....please

The sky is falling, the sky is falling.

Anyone who would want to go to another country, Bye. This is will continue to be the leading country on the planet, as long as Bush is leading it, whether or not a few ungrateful, unpatriotic, deadbeats choose to leave.

By the way, an execution is less tax money than keeping that person alive for 70 years in jail.

The problem in FL. is not with the ballots, but with the lack of attention to detail on the part of the voters. With such an important decision at hand. One would think they would take their time and do it correctly.

Franny Granny 11-12-2000 04:22 AM

What about those 12,000 votes that got tossed? If it was all the voters fault, why do all those folks in Florida have such a strong case on the voter sabotage tip. hmmmm.... Is the weather in Canada nice at this time of year?... Unpatriotic my B-HIND. This country has had no and still don't have no love for me and those who share my background....and you have the nerve to speak on somebody being UNPATRIOTIC...

Ania 11-12-2000 11:18 AM

There seem to be some negative Mojo in the air. Opinions are welcomed but out right ignorance is not!

There was a decision made 2 to 1 this morning that 620,000+ votes will be manually counted in Florida. By the way, What is this!? Some of our people in Florida were given ballots that were already punched? And some people were given pencils instead of pens?

I'm sorry, but if my brother or sister were running for a position like this and I was the govenor, I would make every effort to make sure the voting process went on smoothly. And that is just common sense!

If I were Bush or Gore, I would not want to take office because, this is sooo ugly and you will always be questioned!
