No, you cannot just go through and rush another fraternity. Many groups won't take someone who's been in another fraternity, even if it's at another school, even if they've gone through the proper channels with their national office and disaffiliated.

Have you tried making contact with any of the brothers at your new school through Facebook or their website and explained your situation? It almost sounds like you're dismissing them without even seeing what the guys are like. You never know, you might actually like them as much as if not more than the brothers where you pledged.

If your old school and new school are that much different, it might also turn out that the Greek system as a whole will be that much different and not something you want to be involved in - regardless of which fraternity it is.
