The only thing I find surprising is that a boy who doesn't look like he has even started to go through puberty yet is capable biologically...

He doesn't look like he has even started to go through second grade, yet along puberty. One of the articles quoted a UK doctor who said that 10-12 is about the point where sperm starts to be released with emissions; it has been reported to happen to 6 year-olds. Ewww!

The line-up of wannabe fathers is surprising to me.

I didn't think so either, but I didn't think that about girls either. And then I met a 9 year old girl who was pregnant. Now, not a lot of these young pregnancies surprise me.
