APhiAnna,
Hey thanks for that post! It was really informative, and yeah I wasn't trying to blame it on the process or anything I was just wondering what happens .. but yeah I'm not too sure what deferred recruitment is but I have a 3.4 .. you might be right about seeing the other PNMs around at parties and stuff because I havent been to many ..and whatever you said about looking your best totally makes sense and I think I have that covered =)

Leslie Anne,
I know I didn't give them a chance but I'm trying to point out there were other factors involved and I wasnt just being mean.

OTW,
whats QFP?

TriDeltaSallie,
thanks for the reply, that makes sense .. I guess I meant under the assumption that everyone you spoke to thought you were a good fit, would it make a difference how many people you speak to?
But yeah I get what your saying about how theres no way of knowing whether or not it was because I met so little people .. because thats what I was thinking at first =P

Deferred recruitment means that recruitment is not the first week of school...in your case, it sounds like your school has a deferred recruitment in the second semester.

In the cases of deferred recruitment you can bet that actives from ALL chapters have been busy figuring out who they wanted wayyy before recruitment even started. This was probably done by seeing who was the classiest/most fun at parties, who got freshman leadership position, who joined dance teams or was in a musical or played a varsity sport, who was the bubbly/cute girl that sat next to them in class, who were their favorite fraternity guys dating, who was in organizations with them that they really clicked with...there are literally a million ways you could have gotten on a sister's radar (for good AND for bad reasons), and so if you weren't very social or involved first semester you may simply have slipped through the cracks because they had identified so many other PNMs they really wanted.

For what it's worth, maybe a sister from the group you turned down had spotted you out first week in a class or something and really wanted you to be her sister! You never know, and that's why it's always good to stick things out in rush.

Assuming everyone you met thought you were a good fit... then the numbers game becomes a confidential issue. If individual sororities have rules about having to meet a certain number of sisters, that would be confidential information.

HTH!

This is not what the OP wants to hear.

Were the orignial answers NOT clear enough for you?

No one can tell you whether it matters how many people you talk to or not.

It's something that is secret/private.

The fact of the matter is that you can speculate but you will NEVER KNOW WHY.

Why not? Because it's not something we discuss here.

You keep saying that no one has answered your question, but I believe it has been answered multiple times.

WE DON'T KNOW. IF WE DID, we couldn't TELL YOU anyway.

There really is no sense in trying to figure this out. Recruitment is over and no one can answer your question.

Have a nice day.
