I think he is the WORST we have ever had in recent history.

Messed up economy

People out of work

heathcare in shambles

Education system producing dumb assed kids

and I haven't even GOTTEN to the war.

He and his admin I believe are responsible for mostly why we are in the mess that we are in now worldwide and since this year started I could not wait for 1/20/2009, regardless of whoever was voted for.

And the tip of the iceberg?

To make you go nuts?

The guy that threw the shoe?

.....more power to him.
So the President is the reason that we can't hire good qualified teachers to teach our kids? How is healthcare in shambles? We have the best and most advanced healthcare in the world. When people in other countries get sick, they come to the US for treatment (when available). People not having healthcare b/c their employer doesn't provide it doesn't mean our system is in shambles.

Messed up economy??? Didn't the economy take its largest downturn around 9/11? And wasn't that in the first 3 month's of Bush's first term? That falls on Mr. Clinton. 9/11 was planned for years, it didn't happen in 3 months. Actually, 9/11 falls on many presidents before Bush (indluding his father) that failed to pull the trigger when they had Osama Bin Laden in their crosshairs.

Not really. We certainly have world-class facilities for some illnesses (cancer comes to mind) but our primary care is only comparable to what many other countries offer.

actually jeni, ufpkia has a point, to a certain point

(both of you are right, however)

I have worked in direct patient care for almost 20 years and I have seen many times where people have come to the states to be treated for illnesses first before they have gone to otehr facilities in other parts of the world.

But what is interesting is because we teach so many foreign doctors, we should think about how many will go home with their knowledge and open up those comparable facilities to heal those who need it and who knows?

Possibly charge even less or comparable prices to get healed.

Most certainly would save on a trip and then there is the possibility that they would be more comfortable being treated by one of their own.

How is the economy right now?

Forget 2001...right. now.

It wouldn't be where it is right now if it didn't decrease in 2001. I can agree with you that Bush hasn't helped the economy. War is always a drain on the economy and it was ultimately his decision to go to war. We would still not be in the greatest economy in history if you take out the effects of 9/11, but it is what it is because of the past.

There are a lot of things that contributed to today's economy, and you can't look at the status of today, without looking at the past.

And while I agree with you on that point, hasn't it been mentioned for a long while that unless the US did things differently, we could have avoided the economic mess that we are in now.

There have been warnings since at least 2004 (we can google and see what we come up with) that we were headed in that direction.

Kinda like driving a car past several signs saying the bridge is out and wondering why now your car is headed for a rocky bottom.

Forgetting the rest of this... Because this quote makes me think you're an idiot.

9/11 means 11 September

The president takes office 20 January.

How is that 3 months on any planet?

Apologies.... 9 months.... fact still remains and the point is unchanged.... The 9/11 attacks were planned and put into motion before Bush was elected. Have you ever used a tenkey? The 9 is at the top right and the 3 at the bottom right, which is the exact opposite as a telephone. Sometimes my fingers get mixed up when I type.

The real idiot is the one you are aiding with your comment.
