I thought it would have been obvious why the post was deleted.

I'm no fan of sorority shopping either but once someone has been accepted into a sisterhood and has been initiated, the snarky comments are no longer about the AI but the NPC that initiated her. Someone from DPhiE met with her, their IHQ reviewed her and they saw fit to welcome her. That's their business.

When you continued bashing beyond initiation you were, in effect, bashing DPhiE and doubting their good judgement. It was offensive, so it was deleted.

Pretty simple stuff.

Well, by that standard, how dare we speak negatively of ANY member of a group? Why don't you go over to HRPL? They hold to this mentality.

I don't see that as the same thing at all. It hadn't even been 24 hours since her initiation. DPhiE had just that day said by their actions that she met their criteria for sisterhood. But that isn't good enough for you. Have you met the poster? Yes, she sorority shopped. I'm not condoning it but there must have been more to her that appealed to DPhiE.

I just don't get why this is so hard to understand. I mean, even the worst of the PNM brats don't get bashed once an NPC has given them a bid.

No thanks. I've seen their mentality. I may be a proponent of being a little less abrasive, especially to new posters, but those people are off their nut.

Yeah, last time I checked, I am NOT a member of DPhiE. I can hold and express whatever opinion I have of their choice. Hell, we all know I have expressed my opinion on AI when it comes to MY sorority. I don't have to "clear" my thoughts with you, anyone else, or any IO.

Just because someone becomes a member of the greek community does not make them off-limits for comments, especially when they have sought membership in such a public way.

And, this girl's been posting for over three years. She's not a newbie. She's seen what has gone down on here. She was around during the heyday of sorority shopping at its worst... She's not off-limits just because she finally joined a group.

I never said you did. You asked why your post was deleted and I gave you my opinion in return. No biggie.

Yes, I got that from your first post.

I'll take your word for that. I don't pay that much attention to the AI forum.

Anything else?

Yes, I would like an explanation from the person who deleted the post. That is what the thread was about.

I am glad you agree with me.

I PMed you.

I also want to remind everyone of the following, especially the passages in bold. If you want to discuss further, take it to PM.

Quote:
Recruitment Forum TOS

People come to this forum for advice, in the hopes that someone may have a modicum of experience with their current situation. Even if they do a search, they may not find the answers they seek. Just because it is the 1000th time you've seen a post about rushing as a junior, or what about XYZ campus, it is the poster's first time and they shouldn't be berated for their questions.

Everyone on Greekchat should be an ambassador for Greekchat. Unless someone's first post is rude or spam-ridden, everyone deserves to be welcomed warmly and to be given respect.
  • Do not bring arguments from locked or edited threads into other, open threads. Especially when it pulls away from a valid discussion.
  • Do NOT cut & paste PMs into threads.
  • Do NOT threaten others. After all, this is the internet, what are you going to do, really?
  • The shock value of vulgar language wears off after its continued use. If you can't get your point across without the use of multiple 4-letter words, maybe you shouldn't be posting in this forum.
  • If you can't be honest and forthright without being insulting, maybe you shouldn't be posting in this forum.
  • Remember your Creed, Symphony, Mission, Goal Statement, etc. Before you post, ask yourself "Am I living up to the expectations of my sisters, my fraternity, myself? Can I do better? Should I do better? Am I setting a positive example on behalf of my organization?"
  • Personal attacks, flames, vulgarity, C&P of PMs, general unsubstantiated rudeness, etc. will not be tolerated in the Recruitment forum and all sub-forums.
My goal and Carnation's is to make these forums a place for open, honest and positive discussion of GLO recruitment. Even negative answers can be phrased in a polite way.

We no longer have the time to PM everyone whose threads are either deleted or edited for content. Please be assured that if we delete or edit a posting, it is because we have received one or more 'reported' post messages, PMs or direct emails and have found the complaint to be valid and in keeping with our goals for making these two forums a welcoming environment.
