Well, she may have initiated in 1985, but is she still a member? That may explain why there's no record of her, we're not claiming her as accomplished, and why everything says JMU class of 88, but no Alpha Gamma Delta PC '85 or 1985 initiate of the JMU chapter.
Just saying, if I was no longer a member I wouldn't be telling people I was if I couldn't back it up. If that makes me unsufferable and a sugar pops mean girl for wanting to be sure sisters who are members get credit, and those who aren't sisters stop claiming membership, so be it.
It is just suspect, and I guess I would find it less strange if it had been worded "I joined Alpha Gamma Delta at JMU, but I am no longer a member" which makes more sense than still purporting membership. Guess it is a mystery, just like Whitney on
The Hills denying she is a sorority member when she has been seen in letters and photographed at parties in said letters.
