Brigham's is good stuff, and Emack and Bolio's is very good as well. Someone at my old office worked at Brigham's on the weekends, and used to bring ice cream into the office all the time.

One of our apartments had an Emack and Bolio's right down the street. Not quite J.P. Licks, but still really good.

J.P. Licks also has great ice cream cakes. Their Oreo cake is outstanding. My wife and I used to get them for each other's birthdays (that is, when we weren't getting cakes from Rosie's, an excellent Boston-area bakery).

Count me among those who think Cold Stone is overrated. There was one next door to my gym in Boston (I know, really funny); I tried it once, and it was only ok.

There used to be a Cold Stone in the same complex as my gym, right next to the Quiznos and near McDonalds, across from Lane Bryant. Talk about irony. Anyway, that Cold Stone, along with most of the others I know of in southeastern PA, has shuttered its windows. I never did eat at the one in my gym's complex but I do love Cold Stone.
