I'd just like to say that I think it's misleading to refer to this type of situation as "disaffiliation" or "disaffiliated." It may be technically correct, but "disaffiliation" is something recruitment counselors do to temporarily disassociate themselves from their sorority in order to serve in a neutral role during formal recruitment. The situations described in this thread should really be referred to as "termination of membership" or "resignation" which is obviously permanent.
