Disaffiliation
hello, i thought i would come here looking for answers. i was a founder of my NPC organization on my campus 2 years ago, and since then things were exceptionally well. however, over the past year things have gone steadily downhill and ultimatley led to my forced disaffiliation with the organization. i was accused of "gossiping" and being a detriment to the organization. there was much outcry throughout our greek community. i went through the appeal process, got notable members within the sorority as well as notable members within my campus/greek community, and yet the deciding council felt that i did not provide enough "new" information to overthrow the decision. i have a lot of support through the greek community and i am being approached by members of other greek organizations asking if i am going to join another greek organization. i did not think that this was possible, i just was not sure the logistics of this. any help you all can give me, i would appreciate it. thanks

you cannot join another NPC group if that is the question you're asking.
|
If it's membership in a sorority outside the NPC you wish to pursue, your friens will need to check their bylaws.
Just as t*p already said, you can't join another NPC..even if you've already severed ties with your NPC sorority, and you've already turned in your badge. |

Hm...why would you try to overturn that if they obviously didn't want you in?
They probably have just a credible a story as, so don't come here looking for people to sympathize for you, cause while some might, odds are you won't get much of it. |

I don't see it as seeking sympathy. The girl asked an honest question and she got honest answers. |
if you weren't chartered yet, you can still join another group without breaking the rules
if you have been, and another group wants you to join, my advice would be to join and break the rules |

Who is the deciding council that you refered to in your post?
If it was the local chapter, did you contact your HQ? Something just doesn't ring true and I wonder why. |
I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again...
I'm really glad the NPC Unanimous Agreement regarding dual memberships is in place. It's simple and easy to understand. |
disaffiliating
Your national organization may have an appeals process that would allow you to challenge the cancellation of your membership to your governing board/council at that level. Check your bylaws or your Standard Operation Proccedures type of manual.
