I would still eat fish also, so I would be a pseudo-vegetarian. LOL! And yes, I LOVES me some fried chicken! Popeyes is RIGHT around the corner. It's a wonder I don't eat it everyday!
Anyway, I doubt that you'd have chicken withdrawls. I know ALLLL about pork withdrawls. I felt like a crackhead, literally. Though I've never been on crack, I'm sure it's a comparable feeling. And the sickness that I felt was horrible.
I had a carbonated drink today because it's been a LONG 40 days. Now, my head is banging. It could also be the fact that I've been in front of the computer and TV all day. I'll test it out again tomorrow. If I feel bad again, I may have to slowly reintegrate the other drinks. The question is, do I want to? It's only empty calories. Not really worth it. But, I'm sure I'll want one every now and then!

I know all about the hype behind the dangers of diet pops, but if you MUST have a pop, have a diet one. And that way you don't have to worry about the empty calories. They don't taste all that bad to me. Try to make sure it's not one with aspartame in it. *shrug* I dunno. I don't drink a lot of pop, so I figure when I do, diet pop shouldn't be too harmful. But I haven't let go of the coffee. One day, maybe, one day, lol.
Ok, then if I won't get sick, then I may just cut back on poultry and still eat it every once in a while, like I do beef (once a month or so). We'll see, lol. I'ma look into that. Dr. Ian and Dr. Ornish may be on to something. I'll give it a try. I won't buy any more meat and will stretch out what I have. If I feel better with eating more veggies and less meat, I'll continue on with it. Ok, I guess it's back to the library, lol.
*wondering whether giving up chicken is comparable to celibacy...*

I just got back from the market a few minutes ago and it's a funny thing that we were talking about chicken because the brand that makes the soy crumbles also makes chick 'n strips. It's soy but it's supposed to be a replacement in meals that require chicken. I was tempted to buy them, but I didn't. Now that I thik about it, I may go back tomorrow to get them. They may make a tasty addition to my salads. Now, if only there was a replacement for Popeye's....
Congrats on the goal BB91!! Like Ideal has stated, you are an inspiration!!
As for the sub-topic that has developed, I think I'll blog about that one also!

Few quick things.
1) Can't find You On A Diet at the library. I wanted to listen to it on CD while I walked. I may have to actually purchase this. OR I could pull a Starang and read it at B&N (I have never forgotten about that, lol).
2) Gonna complete a marathon next year. See blog link in siggie.
3) Once I start my marathon training, I'm going to pay to join www.fitnessjournal.org. It seems worth the money; just enough bells and whistles for my tastes.
4) Going to get pics put on disc today. Will start weigh-loss Fotki today. Stay tuned...
5) Soror Camii, can you teach me about this tomato/cilantro sauce?
6) Delph, it IS a hard journey, but we can do it!!!

Soror Ideal
I use a can of the Rotel Milder Diced Tomato and Green Chillies. I mistakenly said cilantro, but i think it is pretty tasty when I mix it in with the brown rice, chicken, and then add steamed broccoli or spinach!!
And I am feeling you on walking a marathon. A year and a half ago in celebration of turning 30, I walked a half marathon!! I was reaaallly psyched about it.
Let me know when/where you plan on walking the marathon. Maybe we can train together (yet apart) and meet up for the marathon!!!

Wow- its been a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time since I've been here and I come back to see Soror Ideal is going to complete a marathon-- yaya- you go Soror!
I am currently training with Team in Training (I saw your reference in your MV blog) to complete the Capital of Texas Triathlon on May, 28. Training is tough, but fun. I am getting toned all over, but I am having to VERY CAREFUL about what I eat b/c as you will find, when you train for an endurace event you are always hungry. So, I had to check myself and re-focus on correct portion size and correct carb/protein/fat ratios. Once re-focused I have lose 5 lbs in the past two weeks- just on paying attention to my food and sticking with my TNT triathlon training program.
Ideal, I highly suggest training with TNT for your marathon. The training program is great, you will meet wonderful people and have a blast, all while raising money for a great cause. If you'd like to hear more about LLS just pm me.
Also, I wanted to say wrt the marathon you don't have to just choose between running all out or walking all out. I am completing the run portion of the event by doing run/walk. This means I run 4 mins and walk 1- you can do any variation you like from a 4/1 split up to a 12/1 split and the TNT coaches will help you figure that out too.
You go!!!
