Oh man I love those peanut butter things in the orange and black wrappers. I think I might be one of like 5 people in the country who actually does, but I think they're tasty. Hard to eat though b/c they stick to your teeth.

The things I always hated getting:

-Licorice; I can't eat licorice of any kind b/c it never, ever fails to make me throw up. But of course, every Halloween I'd return home with a bunch of Twizzlers and would have to get rid of them.

-Necco Wafers

-Smarties (ewww!)

-Tootsie rolls or Tootsie pops...though I did love (and still really do!) love the fruit flavored Tootsie Rolls, I found a package of them at some grocery store over the summer and almost died I was so excited since I've never seen them ever except for Halloween time.

-Those stupid Bottle Cap candies, they fizzed in your mouth, but really they were just like little fruit-flavored alka-seltzers....nasssssty.

Really all I liked getting on Halloween was CHOCOLATE, mmm yummy, and Skittles. Frozen Skittles are the best things ever.

Ok, back to topic!

I don't know what Holloween Kandy is, but I like Halloween Candy. Especially Reese's PB Cups.

Somebody actually hates Peanut Butter Cups? That's a first for me!

My family always teases me about how my elder brother told me that I hated Crunch bars, and being so young, I believed him, and gave them all to him. He has a bit of a mean streak...

I hated popcorn balls, or worse, apples!

Smarties make good poker chips, when you don't have any...

I don't think he was talking about Reese's...he was talking about those things that come in the wax paper that are either black or orange and look like carmel, but are actually peanut butter.

No need to worry anymore, as no one gives these out. You can thank all the loons that (allegedly) poisoned them for that.

Oh, okay. I like them, too. Like xo_kathy, there's very little candy that I dislike!

My mother always has them around in October. Not to give away, but to hoard - she LOVES them!

Several families in my neighborhood when I was little gave out cans of soda. That was kind of disappointing and heavy to carry around in your little bag.

Man you are lucky! I never got popcorn balls in my halloween trick or treating excursions but I would have LOVED to. Popcorn balls are great, especially when they're dyed bright orange with food coloring. And they're impossible to eat b/c of their shape and b/c the marshmellow and popcorn both stick to your teeth but they taste so good! Now you have made me crave one, I might have to go searching for them tomorrow!

Not meaning to hijack - well, I'm gonna do it anyway.

When did people start saying HOLLOWEEN instead of HALLOWEEN? Listen to the commercials on tv. That's what they say now.

Back to the original topic - I hate those orange and black peanut things too. Three Musketeers rule.

I say "Halloween" or "H-ah-lloween" but never "Holloween"

Whoever made this thread either can't spell or doesn't want to

I noticed that they were saying Holloween on the Peanuts Halloween special and tinydancer, didn't they make that when we were in elementary school?

But--Halloween is short for All Hallows' Eve--in some of my older Bobbsey Twin books they were still spelling it Hallowe'en, and that a is definitely a short a!

now: back to plotting how I will gank some chocolate out of my kids' bags.

I am blessed with a daughter who has a peanut allergy. That means I get all her Reese's, Snickers, Mr. Goodbars, etc. What a deal Unfortunately, she has decided she would rather go see Lemony Snicket in Ann Arbor this year than Trick or Treat, so no treats for me this year.

I just replaced the C with a K for Kappa. We do that. Ignore it.

As a child I was very fortunate to have neighbors who gave out great candy, and I continue the tradition at my neighborhood. I also take pictures of all of the children that come by my house.

I do Hershey Miniatures, all flavors of kisses, and I also buy pencils in bulk and toss those in for school.

I also buy full size candy bars and keep them in a special bowl for the 4 or 5 children that live closest to me or I have made brownies and popcorn balls, but I mark them so the parents know they come from my house, and put a recipie card in for the parents.

And the parents actually allow you to do it, or do you do it when the parents aren't there? That's a little too creepy for me!
