I admit it... I won't go more than 10 over and people get really ticked off and get on my tail when I'm going 80 already. I think if I'm going 10 over, I get to be in the fast line, deal with it. Besides, the car in front of me isn't going faster than 80 either so Mr. Impatient Ride My Tail isn't going to get very far if he gets past me.

I really hate when all the lanes are going about the same speed (over the speed limit) and some joker is crazily going from lane to lane, as if they will break some magic spell and be able to get through if they keep switching lanes. I can't begin to imagine how tense these people are. It makes me want to sing Bob Marley to them "Don't worry, be happy".

I think another problem with the drivers around here is that people often drive in areas where they just aren't comfortable. For instance, I'm good with everything DC and NoVA. Anything in MD? I have no idea where I'm going. Where I used to live in other cities and be comfortable with the city and the surrounding areas in kind of a concentric circle, and stay in that area for the most part, people are forced to go in different areas almost every day around here, it seems.

And I love it when people make a left from the right lane and vice versa.

Although people not using turn signals can be somewhat annoying at times, that doesn't nearly frustrate me as much as the slow starts and driving 10-15mph slower than the speed limit. I think the reason why I'm so annoyed with it is because I've never witnesssed anything like this in other states. And it's not like it happens on occasion like it has done in other states I've lived in, but it happens every time I leave the house at least 3-4 times before I get back home.

It's not on the freeways, it's on the streets and at stop lights that it happens. When I'm on the freeway, I just flow with the traffic or do the speed limit. I never do below unless the weather is bad. I agree with you, I don't like impatient drivers especially if I'm doing the speed limit or flowing with the traffic, but I have issues with people who will not do the speed limit and rather than doing 50mph (the max speed limit) on a two lane street, they would rather do 35-40 and in both lanes. I don't get that. I've never witnessed this until I moved here. It's insanely ridiculous and it drives me up a wall.

Honestly? 95% of my driving is on the freeway. Other than that, it's pretty rural roads where I am so it's not bad. There are two roads/intersections that I avoid if I can because they are loaded with businesses and traffic is slow there. I stick to open roads mostly. But, that's part of why I choose to live way down here instead of where you are. Seems like most of the jobs I see posted are up your way though. I could be in for a helluva commute if I get a job up there.

Totally. I don't drive often, but I'm totally fine in DC proper. Put me in Virginia and I'm a total wreck (though I blame Virginia's aversion to ANY KIND OF SIGNAGE).

My main pet peeve is people being inattentive to their surroundings. I have to run about a half mile through my neighborhood to get to my running paths and people weaving around the sidewalk staring at their phone, walking four abreast, etc. piss me off. Share, dammit!

OMG. You are so not kidding. In Wisconsin, there are road signs like every two feet. I'm perpetually afraid of getting a speeding ticket because it will be miles before I see a sign.

I'm loving the 70 mph speed limit on the highways though.

I've lived in DC for 5 years and I still haven't figured out how to get on the GW Parkway going south BECAUSE THERE ARE NO FREAKING SIGNS. I always end up at the Pentagon somehow. Once I get turned around, I can get on the parkway from the other direction, so it's just become an expected part of the journey. Ha!

After driving in Miami and all of the major cities in Texas, nothing phases me.

I'm about to drive through rush hour traffic in Dallas and will end up in Austin, one of the most congested cities in the country. Lucky me.

One lady told me what she wanted but it took forever for her to realize that she hadn't paid yet. She was holding up quite a line and my manager eventually got her attention. Then she got mad when she wanted her drink Decaf and sugar free and we had to remake it. I usually ask, but didn't want to be rude *cough*, and interupt.

That's when you put up a sign that says "we will take your order when you are finished with your phone conversation." Several restaurants around here do this, and it seems to work.

I've mentioned it to the manager, because another cafe in the same franchise does it, but she thinks it's not appropriate.

Uhhh no eff that. At my job, if you come up to the bar with a phone glued to your hand I wont go over to you til your done, that is so inconsiderate!

I feel like I have wayyyyy to many, mostly stemming from my job as a bartender lol...you really see the crappy side of people..

Worst drivers ever: Puerto Rico. I'm not sure I've ever seen someone use a turn signal there. I also saw a guy backing up on the highway once.

My pet peeve: Too much PDA. I really hate people making out in public. I cringe when I see a couple walking down the street with their arms around each other. I'm cool with hand holding and small kisses, but that's about it.

I also hate when friends get too touchy feely. I remember being in class in high school once and this girl was giving her friend a back rub during class. It wasn't a massage, she was just kinda tracing her fingers up and down the other girls back. Ugh, it's making me super anxious just remembering it.
