I have quite a few but, only three really big ones. My biggest pet peeve is people who have bad table manners. There are a lot of bad table manners that are obvious that would annoy a lot of people but, it really aggravates me when people don't know how to hold a fork properly when eating. Like, the people who wrap their entire hand around the fork with their thumb on top of the fork, "woofing" down their food like they've never eaten before. That's primary pet peeve #1 for me.
Smokers who want to talk to me while their clothes and breath smell like cigarettes. The same thing goes for people who have had too much to drink. And then people who bring their whiney kids into the movie theater. I won't tolerate it. The first cry/whine, I get up and I tell one of the movie staff. I didn't pay to hear your kid whine and cry. Take them home! |
I think this thread is more appropriate for my OCD lol
1. I HATE when people put napkins on plates when they're done eating. I used to start gagging when I saw it, but now I just tell people to take the paper off the plates. When it's put in cups, that's even worse. The only time it's "acceptable" to put paper on plates is when the paper is neatly folded. 2. When I was younger, I used to have to touch non-circular surfaces as many times as my age (ex. If I was 12 and was eating at a square table, I'd have to hit the 4 corners, the 4 sides, and the middle of the table 4 times so that my "taps" would equal 12). If I ran into a wall, I'd have to run into it with the same limb (on the opposite side of my body) to make things right. Now, if I close a door, I have to hit the doorknob on the opposite side before I can "feel OK" about the door being closed. 3. This was terrible in college, but not that big of a deal now: Whenever I am at a restaurant and order coffee (or tea, or anything that requires sugar), I have to fold the sugar packets so that they're neat. With coffee, I stack the cream tubs and neatly place the folded sugar in the tubs. My friends hate it when I make them clean up their messes, but servers like it lol |

Hilarious! |
People who stand thisclose to you when you're in line. I'm very big on personal space and I get really aggravated when someone is standing practically on top of me. I especially get annoyed when I'm paying the cashier with a credit card and the person next to me is standing so close that it's like they're involved in the transaction. I start covering my credit card, the receipt and my purse because I feel like the person is about to mug me.

There are 2 things I can't handle
1. When people don't use their turn signals 2. If my iPod isn't meticulously organized |

One of my biggest pet peeves is when people drive 65 in the fast lane on the freeway. It drives me nuts! |

My biggest pet peeves are people eating with their mouths open. My brother in law has this bad habit and it grosses me out. Big time when he eats Mexican food.
Knight Shadow, my husband has major OCD. His clothes are coodinated to color hangers. For example, all slack are with blue hangers, short sleeve shirts green hangers, and long sleeve shirts are purple hangers. They all have a rotation so he know what clothes are to be worn on which day. My favorite is all the light switches have too be facing the same direction. If the light is on the switch is upright and light off switch down. In a room with two light switches in opposited sides of the room, I will go and mess them up just to get a reaction. One side will be up and the other side will be down. This drives him crazy. I can think of others but I will be here all day. Oh I do the same thing with the sugar packets and fold them nicely into the cream tubs. Except I do not have OCD. |
I agree with the people having no concept of personal space. It's so bad where I work now- people walk right into my cube, where there's not a lot of space, and just get right up on me and start talking to me. Looking at my computer screen. I've even had a guy reach over and start using the mouse without really saying why. Ooh, I wanted to smack it right out of his hand.
A lot of my coworkers tend to eat while working, but when they eat, their mouths are open and they apparently think it's completely cool to talk to others while their mouth is full. I am disgusted when little bits of food start spitting out of their mouths onto the conference table. |

I really do hate wire hangers. Anyone who knows me knows that I cringe when I see people putting clothes on wire hangers. Dry cleaners bother me because they use wire hangers. LOL. I'm not crazy about it but I am known for confiscating wire hangers and buying plastic or wood hangers and "ordering" family members to hang an entire closet full of clothes on the new hangers. |
Dr. Phil, I agree about the wire hangers. My mom loves them and I can't get her to dispose them.
