That all may be true, but you also pointed out that your dad offered to buy you a new car if you give his fraternity another chance, and because you said you can't pass that up, your father's expectations can't be the only reason you're considering them again.
I'm not trying to argue with you, but if you don't want folks to share their opinions with you on subjects like those, you should carefully weigh what you type before you type it.
All that said, I wish you much luck at rush and hope you have a good experience. I've been to your hometown several times, as my husband has family there- it's a very pretty town.
