George Lindsey who played Goober on the Andy Griffith Show has passed away.

He was often seen around town here in Nashville, and did a lot of good things for Middle TN and Alabama.

Seems like he had a good life, and gave plenty back in return.

Sister's local library has put out a book display featuring 'Mayberry/Andy Griffith' reading materials, including a photo of Mr. Lindsey.

Seems her library has dedicated areas where recently deceased authors/actors/artists have library materials performed/written by/relating to them displayed postmortem (their children's section features Maurice Sendak items). A framed photo of the artist with birth/death dates is next to whatever type of library materials are displayed.

Sometimes she is startled to find a new display one hour after an artist has passed on (Death Watch At The Library ).
