Rings on HJGreek - need advice!

I'm seriously considering buying (read: my finger is hovering over the 'add to cart' button) this ring: http://www.hjgreek.com/index.cfm?eve...oduct_ID=51984 . It's the chapter officer ring, and I want it in silver.

My issues are thus: has anyone actually seen it in person? Is it as pretty and shiny as it looks? And also, would you order it to fit your right ring finger (like a class ring) or middle finger (like a cocktail ring)? I tend to order big rings sized for my middle finger, so that I can switch it to my left hand if I'm writing. However, one of my sisters pointed out that you could consider a crest ring to be like a class ring and therefore it should be worn on the ring finger.

Opinions?

I've not seen the black officer ring, but I do have two sisters who have the amythest (how do you spell that?!?) in silver, and it is gorgeous. Shiny and blingy and everything! I don't know why I cant picture their hands, but I'm pretty sure they both were them on their right ring finger. Maybe their right pointer finger? Almost positive not their middle finger, though. If you do get it, report back on it!

I already voted via PM, but i forgot to mention that i OFTEN switch between right and left depending on what i am doing, and the middle finger size ring allows me to do that! (the kd presidents ring is the same)

Thank you for posting the picture! It looks like it's about the size of most of the cocktail rings I wear (typically on my middle finger). I think I'm going to go middle - like you said, it's easy to size down if I change my mind. I'd love to see a picture with it on the middle finger, too... (No pressure, though!)

ETA: Never mind, it is on your middle finger in the bottom one, isn't it? I think it looks good there!

I.Am.JEALOUS. That ring you're considering is beautiful. Our choices are not. *frown*

ETA: why can't HJ Greek put a Theta COA on that ring?

I think the Theta badge replica ring they have is gorgeous! Of course, I've always thought the Theta badge is gorgeous, so that would be my obvious favorite from your choices. And you have the cushion ring, although I'm not sure why yours is on a blue stone...

Well I wish we had the option of having a big 1 inch badge like theta does...grass is always greener on the other side

Okay, I have officially ordered the chapter officer ring in silver (sized to fit my middle finger). I also ordered the hearts united pendant. What can I say? The shipping was the same, and it's such a pretty necklace!

Consider me officially jealous.

I want the amethyst ring. Maybe as a present after I give birth? Lol!

So the ring came today, and it's beautiful, but it's broken! One of the prongs to hold the stone is broken, and the stone isn't seated correctly. I tried to call HJGreek but they are closed on the weekends. Has anyone had to send broken items back to them? I certainly hope they aren't expecting me to pay for shipping to send it back!

I have. When I received my badge, one of the amethysts and one of the pearls were rolling in the case. I had to send it back. If I recall correctly, they paid for the shipping since the badge was sent to me defective.

It's more crooked than that, and the crest is kind of tilted to one side because of it, and the tip of one of the prongs was broken off and actually stuck beneath the stone. I'm so disappointed. I had special events this week that I wanted to wear it to!

I'm so sorry you can't wear it this weekend! Herff Jones has excellent customer service, unfortunately too many of my friends and GC acquaintances have needed to use it. You might want to try reaching out to them on the HJ Greek Facebook page - they're usually very responsive!
