Aspiring sorority girl seeking for help!

Hey everyone! In fall 2010, I'll be starting at NAU and i'd like to rush, and im leaning towards the delta delta delta side.
I know I'm still in high school and all, but can you guys give me the best advice you can? And don't just say"be yourself". Be specific--what would you like to see in someone who wants to be part of your sorority?
Also, how do you guys manage to keep up your grades while still in the sorority? i know it takes a lot of you guys' time .
And, if after rush we are chosen to be part of the sorority of our choice, how do we find out? and when are we told?
Sorry about my questions, I'm really clueless here.

While it's great that you're already leaning toward Delta Delta Delta, it's best to keep an open mind and consider ALL sororities at NAU. Your preference toward Tri Delta may be based on several factors, but you'll hear over and over again here on GreekChat that you should really consider all sororities, not just one. Besides, a lot of things can happen between now and Fall 2010.

Make the most of your last years of high school. Keep your grades up because it will play a key role when you go through rush. Same with high school activities. Get involved if you haven't done so already.

Several ladies here are alums or have recently participated in rush at NAU, and I'm sure they'll be in here soon to offer their words of wisdom.

Also, recruitment is designed to give you a chance to meet ALL the sororities on campus. It's not a good idea to be set one just one, just because you haven't even gone through recruitment yet and haven't met the women in the different sororities. You also don't know which ones will choose to invite you back each round.

Each sorority is looking for different things in girls during recruitment, and I really wouldn't worry about it right now.

You're in HS right now, so I would really just relax and enjoy HS for now and worry about college and recruitment when the time comes.
