Speaking of ANTM -- I ended up watching last season on Y_outube because the winner is from Dallas. That show is getting to be a little over the top.

Getting? A little? It's been there. A lot.

Why else would I watch it?

Yea, you're right. I will only watch now if I'm completely bored. I don't care to see Tyra showing off her "smize" or whatever.

If they have regular workshops on etiquette, politeness and how to conduct yourself as a mature adult, then I would say the business fraternity is a STUPENDOUS idea.

There were many ways to ask the things you wanted to know without being so crude. The sooner you learn them, the better, because I hate to break it to you - you might end up with a woman as your boss sometime and she won't put up with your adolescent misogyny.

If the Sigma Chis (or any fraternity) at UCF have seen this thread, even if they HAVE offered you a bid, I wouldn't be surprised if it was recinded - especially since you've basically said the only reasons you want to join are to help you in your career and to get laid. Whether or not that is their day to day M.O. matters little - the last thing any fraternity wants is someone who blatantly says "this is all it's about."

I don't exactly agree with this. He said he wants to find answers to questions that he wouldn't ask in public. If he's asking these questions here, then that means he is polite and uses proper etiquette because he will not ask them in public. Its hard to say "I want to have sex with hottest babes" without offending someone. And if he's asking it here, then he understands his image in a public setting to a higher degree than you give him credit.

I feel as if there is a lot more to a fraternity for this guy than what he put out there. He gave us as much info about him and what he wants as was needed and thats fine. Fucking bitches is great, anyone can tell you that

See, this is why you see no problem with it, because you're as crude as he is.

There are ways to say it - "my guy friends in so and so fraternity are meeting awesome women" - without descending into gutter language. I'm not pretending to be shocked that guys talk like that - hell, girls talk like that occasionally - but a forum like this is not the place for it.

And this is far from being an "anonymous" forum.

You know, to thine own self be true. I think the guy sounds like a pig, but he knows what he is. The decision is between career assistance or college sex life. The presumption is that with the business fraternity he'd get one but not the other, and with the social fraternity he might get both.

I'd like to tell him to grow up and keep it in his pants, but hey, I was young once. And so many guys don't start putting their priorities in the correct order until 25 at least, and 30 more likely.

I wish he had been more discreet in naming specific fraternities, because it makes me assume those guys are also a bunch of pigs. And that's not fair to them. And 33 is right, his question could have easily been asked without offending so many of us if he had thought at all about his audience. This is the type of thing that fraternity life can teach him, if he lets it. At the very least, use condoms, and when you get a funny itch, get to the doctor BEFORE hitting the bars again.

It's actually not that hard to figure it out. You've given more clues than you think. As a UCF alum, I can say with certainty that both fraternities and sororities (including my own) have cut potential members during rush because of things that were said on the internet. Yes, UCF Sigma Chi is a good chapter. Yes, girls like them. But the alumni I know from Sigma Chi were classy guys and would never want stuff on the internet about how they only "eff girls who are 9s and 10s." I doubt the current members of Sigma Chi would want such a misogynist statement out there either.

Thank you everyone for your help, especially BemoreLXA!

I ended up rushing the social fraternities (never even showed up to any of the business fraternity's rush events), and ended up accepting my bid to one of UCF's prestigious social fraternities! I am really busy, but really enjoying my pledge time!

Thank you again to everyone that gave me real answers and helped me figure out what I wanted to do! I realize now that I made the right decision, and I am so happy!

How did I miss this the first time around?

So we don't get to know who the lucky and "prestigious" social fraternity is? Bummer.
