UCF student needing some advice
I am a sophmore currently attending UCF.
My major is in business. I'm on the fence as to what I want to do this spring rush. I could: 1. Stay GDI 2. Rush a social frat such as Sigma Chi, Phi Delta Theta, ATO. 3. Rush a professional business fraternity 4. Be directed towards a frat with both the professionalism of a business fraternity and the fun/social side of Sigma Chi, Phi Delt. I am a very confident, outgoing, and attractive guy. Many people have told me I should be in a fraternity. I have had a pretty good social life during my GDI time, and I am not opposed to staying GDI. I have a good deal of "bros" and some sexy ladies as well interested in me. I have no problem getting girls. However, I see how several of my guy friends in Sigma Chi and Phi Delt are constantly around 9's and 10's. I have a couple, but these guys are getting laid by these sexy women more than I am on my own. In general, they seem to have a pretty awesome time from what I've seen. Plus they fit my personality and general interests more than the business frat. My other option is joining one of the professional business fraternities. While I like the professionalism the frats has to offer, most of the members are rather unnattractive and nerdy (yes, I know that sounds shallow). They just aren't the type of people I would typically hang out with. But I am attracted to the "future" they offer me such as internships, job opportunites, etc. I am hoping I could get a bunch of answers to help me decide what to do, and give me a little more insight as to where a person like me would best be fit. Additionally, if anyone could help explain to me which frats would be best for me for future jobs, internships, etc,. I would be very appreciative. Please don't judge me for my reasoning for the social frats. My perspective is solely from what I've seen heard and seen. I know there is more to these frats than just partying, but frankly, this is the most visible and pronounced part. :) |

I think you just sunk lower than the OP,and at the end of his post, I wouldn't hage thought that possible. |
Is it just me, or are all of the trolls coming out of the woodwork at once?
There seems to be an overabundance of them lately... |

OP, maybe you can join the buisness fraternity and the social fraternity? Here I know you can join be a member of both service or academic fraternities and social fraternities so that may be an option at UCF |

Only one chapter gave him a bid and revoked it on the night of induction. |
I think all four options are wrong. What you should really do is work to be named the sweetheart for one of the sororities. That would really get you laid a TON.

If you're only joining a fraternity (not a FRAT, thankyouverymuch) to get girls, for the love of God stay a GDI. Have a LITTLE respect for the greek system.

@ BemoreLXA,
Thank you for actually taking the question seriously. Your answer was very helpful. Any reason as to why the business fratERNITY is a bad idea? (@ FleurGirl - Talk about being a troll, if really abbreviating "frat" on the internet bothers you so much, I wish I could meet your sisters, they must be Jesus Christ to deal with your ridiculous attitude). @lucgreek If you actually think I'm dumb enough to say any of this out loud to anyone, you're on the same level as FleurGirl. I thought that maybe if I came on this site, and was brutally honest I would actually get some help. Maybe get some questions answered in a mature way that I could never ask one of the brothers. Way to show just how nice and helpful the individuals in Greek Life are. @33girl If you're going to attempt to be humorous or satirical, please actually make it somewhat clever/original. Resorting to a lame "bi" joke? Didn't know they had Greek Life in 3rd grade. Again, it seems that these boards are dominated with trolls who lack any ability to be helpful in the least. I think the "trollfest" hit hardest right by your computer screen. @ anyone that isn't a giant dbag Care to give me some more GOOD opinions? Why is the business fraternity a bad idea? Are they really not that helpful? Thank you to everyone that is able to give me a MATURE answer (all one of you). :) |

If all you're looking for in a fraternity is getting laid then by all means, stay GDI.

Clearly you would rather have a bunch of fake, misleading people involved, but I was hoping for some straight and USEFUL help. Apparently I was incredibly wrong. I would be ashamed if I ever treated a guest like that (on the internet or in real life). So once again, if you cannot give me a legitimate answer, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM POSTING IN THIS THREAD! Thank you very much. :) |
