To one of her other accounts I assume (which would explain some of the randoms around here lately).

Certainly not SMU, because she's not methodist.

Besides all of the craziness on this thread, I wanted to say thank you for this!

I completely agree. I didn't post this looking to dole out sympathy or receive love letters, I love wanted to see if anyone else had the same experience I did. I think that most people need to understand that if you were dropped the first time you went through recruitment you should work on a lot if you want to give it a second time. I'm very, very happy with my outcome even though I completely understand it's a rare one.

33girl...I think you missed that thread (maybe it was deleted) where she said that she does not attend SMU but, she is going to school at University of Vermont. She also stated that she thought all Northern State Schools sucked.

Which is weird since the last time I checked a US map, Vermont was still in the North!

You mean she isn't a pregnant Tri Delta mad that she's forced to go alum and hell bent to save OJ's reputation from the producers of The Family Guy?

I had quite a few friends get a bid their second time through recruitment at University of Kentucky after correcting their mistakes from the first recruitment. This was in the late 90's however, and things may have changed since.
At EKU, those that come back through recruitment that we liked but didnt have grades the first time, but did the second time, have been given bids. Those that we didnt like the first time, we typically also didnt like them the second, third, or fourth time (yes we had someone come through four times), and they were obviously not successful.

There was a sophomore in my Rho Gamma group that went through recruitment for a second time and got a bid. I think she didn't get one her first time around because of grades.
It's not uncommon for girls to get bids their second time around, but then, I'm from the north and greek life isn't very large at the college I went to.

Second time the charm
I went through Rush the first time as a legacy & was cut by my mom's sorority just before prefs so I quit. The next time I had an amazing recruitment and found the best possible chapter for me!
