LOL. ladygreek you are old school and I know it was not easy for you. Much respect for you and your pledge period.

Yeah, my brother didn't either. He brought one of his sand's with him that year, and neither one of them touched us. They were taught the whole distant sands thing. Plus my brother and I are very close so he wouldn't do that to me anyway.

Then it was decided to make chapters either all alumnae or all collegiate. The alumnae chapters then received the designation of Sigma after their greek letter name.

Finally it was decided to designate all alumnae chapters by geographic names and collegiates with greek letters. Thus some chapter names were reassigned.
This is interesting and is true of the early SGRho chapters as well. Our first chapter in 1922, the Alpha chapter, was technically based in Indianapolis but was comprised of collegiates all or mostly from Butler U. and later alumnae. Even after the charter was granted at Butler in 1929 and named the Alpha chapter, the collegiates and alumnae continued to function as one chapter for a while. Later the alumnae members formed the first all alumnae chapter, Alpha Sigma. Also, all alumnae chapters end in Sigma with one or two greek letters before it.

I didn't know about Delta alumnae chapters not having greek letters though. That's really interesting.

Yeah, but see we all thought that since an alumnae soror would be present that NO ONE would do anything.

But the difference between you an me, PB, is that I don't idolize those days.

There is no Lambda chapter of APhiA. That is the designation for our alumni chapters.

Our Lambda chapter was chartered in 1921 as a mixed chapter introduced at U. of Chicago. Two of our Founders initiated the chartering. It is now a city-wide chapter.
