Okay, so apparently I was not successful in my attempt to make a joke. Sorry. It was really just a joke.
Anyway, I was just asking what people think of abuse of animals. Epchick made a great point that people forget about other animals that are not domesticated. Thank you, Epchick for pointing that out. That is very true.
Please everyone keep going. This is a very good discussion. It really opens my eyes to the things other people brought up. I didn't really even think about cutting pig ears off while they are alive. That is true.
One thing that grosses me out, while we are on the topic, is lobster. Maybe I am ignorant, but would throwing them into a pot of boiling water after they are dead make them taste different or something? Why can't they be killed before being thrown into that pot? I was thinking that when I watched Jersey Shore the other night.

I am not signing the petition for the simple fact that I believe that sentencing is best left to Judges.
Also, I would not eat my dog. Not like he'd harvest much meat, anyway.

I steam lobster. In beer. Tastes better.

Lobster and crab are only to be steamed LIVE in beer.
It's a family tradition for me.

Holy Geez...What a cute ass picture of that dog. It is pretty funny. I'm gonna' show that to my boyfriend. Yep, I did it again. I lol'd. Wow.
Still, I hope people don't think I go around eating house pets for fun. Gross.
So, explain-if anyone knows. Why do they cook lobsters that way???

Because dead lobster spoils very quickly. It generally isn't safe to eat lobster that was dead before it was cooked.

Plus it is fun seeing the lobsters and crabs fight to the death and scurry if they ever get loose. You can also hear them scream!!!! You get used to it after the first few times of doing it. You also know it's gonna taste YUMMY.
"Crabs in a barrel" is so accurate because when one crab gets close to the top, the other crabs say "oh no you don't!!!!"
Damn, I love cooking lobster and whole crabs. And I'm not a sociopath or serial killer.

Supposedly, the screaming sound is really just air escaping from the shell (think tea kettle type effect), but I think they are truly screams of terror, from the vocal cords. Really.

Lobsters don't have vocal cords.
