WTH is wrong w/ people?

I hope this is where I should put the link. I'm asking that everyone sign this petition. Some people think it is okay to hurt animals, yet they get upset when those animal abusers become serial killers! Well, serial killers start out this way. People like this should be shot.

I no longer sign petitions and join causes without reading up on them (not like it really matters either way). I learned a huge lesson from Jena 6.

"We the undersigned urge the court in Denver, Colorado to give Steven Clay Romero, the man charged in the dragging death on December 30, 2009 of a German Shepherd named Buddy behind his truck for three miles the maximum penalty of three years in federal prison, $100,000 fine and one year probation for this horrific crime. Do not let this crime go unpunished for the horrible death of an innocent dog. Given Mr. Romero's past criminal record, we feel he is a menace to society and this dragging death is only the beginning of what could lead to future unimaginable and tragic consequences."

I agree with the bolded statement, though. Many serial killers start out with killing animals. People shake their heads and ask what went wrong when they find a person who killed tons of people. People wait until AFTER people are killed to make a difference and put a monster away. Maybe those murderers wouldn't get that far if we took care of them when they killed/ tortured animals. It reminds me of that girl who put the cat in the oven. That b**** deserves to die. Yeah, I said it.

As far as the Jena 6 goes-I don't know what you are talking about. What did the petition say? I think they should have all served time in prison.

She deserves to die for putting a damn cat in the oven? Hmmm...more like, she deserves counseling and rehabilitative efforts.

Throwing people in prison for killing and torturing animals will not keep them from becoming serial killers (or commiting other crimes) if these people aren't counseled and don't have social support mechanisms.

 Wow...seriously? That's pretty ridiculous to condemn someone to death for killing a cat. Geez.

I've ran over & killed squirrels before. So should I die? Am I gonna be a serial killer now? (sorry to the agd's....i didn't mean to kill them lol)

I completely agree!

It'll keep them from becoming serial killers if they aren't released from prison. If they want to kill their fellow prisoners, fine by me.

Someone should stick cat-girl in the oven and see how she likes it. I have ZERO sympathy for people who hurt innocent animals.

Okay...So, maybe that was a bit harsh. I don't think she should have gotten just 6 months probation for it. She walked out of the court room laughing. I think something needs to be done to these people (teenagers or not).

No, epchick...you don't deserve to die. You are not a serial killer (lol) at least, not that I know of? You're not-right?

I feel like people don't give a damn about animal abuse and they just shrug it off....It really pisses me off! Aside from hitting something accidentally with your car (I've done it and cried), there is NO excuse for going around torturing or killing animals.

Clever.

This is why the penal system and society are so jacked up.

als463, you're cool as a fan but you sound like one of those loony PETA people who are willing to harm humans to further their agendas. The hypocrisy of that is overwhelming.

Hypocrite test:

Are you a vegan?

Damn it, Kevin. Come on...No. You caught me. Dr.Phil, I am not a loony PETA member. What is weird about them is that they got in trouble for killing animals, themselves. That was hypocricy at its best.

Let me try this again, Kevin. Damn it-I knew an Attorney would call me out, lol. Okay. If you go around abusing/ torturing animals, then you deserve bad things to happen to you. I won't say what because I don't like to say they should be treated the same way they treated that animal was (since it is disgusting), but society should try and remedy the situation.

Kevin 01-05-2010 04:18 PM

Do you have any idea what animals have to go through to put meat on your table?

It ain't pleasant or pretty. If you have a strong stomach, there's plenty of slaughterhouse video on the internet. I wouldn't recommend you watch it though.

Or are dogs just more deserving of the protection of the law than pigs because dogs are pets?

DrPhil 01-05-2010 04:21 PM

LOL als463 is so fun. :p

"I won't poke a cow's eye out but I'll eat the hell outta its ass if it's cooked the right way. It's okay because I don't eat cat and therefore wouldn't put one in the oven."

I think there is a difference between killing an animal for food and torturing/ abusing it for fun. Don't get me wrong. If I had a dog (which I don't now because my apt. complex doesn't allow pets), if there was no meat left and my family was starving (famine-like circumstances), I would find the most humane way of making him our meal. It sucks, but it is true. Some people hurt animals for fun. Those people don't deserve to be oxygen thieves.
