Ask Michael Vick*

*that sound you hear is probably a can of worms that's opening with Michael Vick and dogs being mentioned within the same vicinity of this thread.

People like MV disgust me.

Oh gross als463 would eat the family dog if her family was hiding from a world of zombies (zombies make it more interesting) and couldn't leave the house.

That's just gross and I pray that you will stock up on nonperishables starting TODAY. Transgenders in office mean that Dawn of the Dead is coming sooner than later.

Hey....Come on...Don't hate on me for that! Don't lie, DrPhil. You would too. I guess there was no NICE or EASY way of saying that.

The point I am trying to make is this: People who kill animals for food is VERY different than people who kill animals as a means of entertainment.

I don't think it's a point of him "feeling special" but hey making that kind of money doing what he does will net you all kinds of wrong media attention when you mess up.

Just ask Tiger Woods *

*See how we aren't talking Vick anymore?

What about people kill insects and small frogs and lizards rather than letting them out of the house or bypassing them? You can swat a fly or you can hug it and let it outside like a monk does.

Hmmmmm....how do you hug a fly?

Come on, guys. There is a big difference between dragging a dog by a rope from a moving truck and killing an insect that gets inside your house. Stick to that, if possible.

ALS: Who wrote the petition? It's not really worded very well and personally, it keeps me from taking it all that seriously. I don't mean to say the crime isn't serious, I just mean that I generally give more credit to things that are well-written than things that aren't.

ThetaDancer, don't worry. I know what you mean. I admit (and I need to put this in my "Do you Judge" thread) that when I see poor grammar, I don't take things too seriously. I was just invited by a friend on FB. I then signed it-without looking at the grammar that much. I'm sorry, I do not really know who wrote it. It is unfortunate that stupidity could turn people off to signing. I'm not saying YOU, I'm saying that there are many people out there who think like us that would NOT sign for that very reason, understandably.

Is there a difference? Or is there only a different (like others have said) when it is a certain type of animal?

Have you seen some of those slaughterhouse videos? Some of those animals ARE tortured for fun and then killed for food. Can the farmers (or whoever does the slaughtering) remove the pig ears and chicken beaks AFTER the animals are dead? Of course. Do they? no. Chickens' beaks and pigs ears are cut off while the animals are still alive.

Cows, pigs, etc are not exempt from cruelty just because they are as cute as dogs and cats. The rules should apply for EVERY animal.

ETA: I understand what you mean about cruelty to animals, I agree with you as well (although not to that extreme extent though) but sometimes people forget about other animals aside from dogs, cats, bunnies and the other domesticated animals.

We don't have to stick to anything. What you consider a big difference doesn't have to translate to everyone else.

Says you.

Flies and geckos serve a purpose. If I don't kill them, should I condemn you for killing them?
