Okay, I'm going to go there. Really, what does what Rick Mercer does with his partner (or piece of the week) in the privacy of his own home have to do with you, personally? It just seems a really odd (and kind of bigoted) statement to make that you're considering leaving the country just because a celebrity is gay.
