I am not sure of the tradition behind Boxing Day, but I never go shopping today either. Boxing Day is traditionally the day my whole (extended) family gets together. My grandparents spend Christmas at my house and then on Boxing Day all the aunts, uncles and cousins come round to celebrate Christmas.
I would hate to go shopping today anyways - it will be way too crazy - no matter how good a deal you get.
