If Rix goes down or goes 'away', Fabian Walker is the back-up. Walker is tremendously talented, but zero experience with the exception of getting shelled in the Sugar Bowl. Behind him is Wyatt Sexton: pure passer, temendous talent, less-than-zero experience.
Coach still says Rix is the most talented QB he's ever coached, period. So far that hasn't translated into performance on the field. Rix will be a redshirt junior this fall.
By the way, one of the key coaches we lost was Jim Gladden, Sigma Nu, who retired after 28 years coaching FSU defensive ends.
