rest assured that 99.999% of stories like this are urban legend. I have never heard of a sorority doing something like this, and if they did, they would NOT be a group you would want to be a part of, I'm sure!!!

I can't say that this doesn't happen anywhere, because, well, I haven't been to every sorority at ever college campus in North America. But I assure you that this should not be something you worry about during recruitment!
