Oh, no! I am so sorry to read this. I was but a very small lass when she was crowned Miss America and grew up admiring her. Then of course was very proud to have her as a sister and role model when I became a Chi Omega.
She was beautiful inside and out, and devoted much of her life to charitable causes she was genuinely committed to, particularly the plight of children in Third World countries.
I pray for the peaceful repose of her soul as well as comfort for those who loved and will miss her.
