OK, I'd be surprised if there were any NIC/NPC/NPHC GLOs whose names were from the initials of an English Phrase displayed prominently in their history.

I wouldn't be. In fact, I'm pretty sure I've read in public histories of at least a few GLOs for which that is the case, though I can't remember who right not.

But I'd also remember that just because the letters may have originally been inspired by English words or an English phrase, that doesn't mean they weren't given a deeper (and non-English) meaning later.

Agreed. But I don't think any US Socials indicate that the english phrase is where the name comes from.

Oh no, these have been around since the 1900s....they are what the post 90s buzzwords are ripping off, which is one of the reasons the post 90s buzzwords stick in my craw.
