No, they had to show that all the groups had one on their bid list. There was no other way around this. If they hadn't, the question would have been asked and that would have been bad PR. I don't like how any of this has played out. This is my school and I live here in Birmingham. But I've got enough sense to understand what we have to do. I was in school at Bama when it integrated in 1963. That was my freshman year and I had PE with Vivian Malone, the National Guard and the FBI. Seriously, folks, they had to do this, right, wrong or indifferent, they had to give the numbers.
