Yes, but it was some years before we had a president who had attended college after 1776. And remember, too, that the first of what we would now consider a general, or social, fraternity was not established until 1825 -- then you have to wait until someone who was in college in 1825 or later to become president.
Actually, only 17 presidents have been Greek -- at least if one is only looking at general GLO's -- and the first "Greek President" was Rutherford B. Hayes (
DKE), elected in 1877.
