There's nothing some cheap tulle and white lights can't make pretty! And the kicker is always (usually?) the dessert with the girl's name on it. They can't take it out of the house, so they give them something they have to eat!

Those, pref decorations can be saved and stored for year to year, so those decorations often reflect several years' worth of budgets. It's not like we're spending a wedding's worth of budget for decorations every year.
