I am ...

1) The greenery on the carrot sticking out of the paper grocery bag that is being carried through the door.

2) The stern African-American female judge who is NOT having shenanigans in her courtroom.

3) The sassy-but-sexless gay best friend.

4) The perfect hair and makeup on the woman who's just awakened from a night of toe-curling sex.

5) The Motown tune that underscores a lighthearted montage of the nerdy romcom heroine undergoing a makeover/going on a shopping spree.

I am a very famous person who desperately wants to be "just like everyone else" so I dress incognito and fall in love with a construction worker because his life is so normal.

I am the man who depite having had the entire movie to figure it out, realizes at the virtual last minute that I am, indeed, in love with her, just as she prepares to board the plane/train/bus (always on the complete opposite side of town), heading out of my life forever.

I race aross town, through security, only to have her see me just as the stewardess is about to close the cabin door.

I'm the quirky, free-spirited, yoga-practicing girl who makes uptight corporate guy loosen his tie and realize that he needs to be nicer to his underlings/reconcile with his father/sell his Park Avenue triplex and move into a yurt.

But that's okay because it's one of the occupational hazards of being adorable and childlike in an adult world.

Thanks to the power of Google, I just learned what a yurt is.

At first, I thought you were saying "yacht" in a really annoying way (staying in character), but then I realized that wouldn't really follow with the plot of the movie...

ROFL!!! Did you know there is an actual term for this type of character? It's called a Manic Pixie Dream Girl. This was a pretty interesting read:

I'm the crusty old/fatherly/loveable police chief who willingly looks the other way while you go on a high speed chase to apprehend the bad guy, even though I made you turn in your badge this morning.

Because I knew your father, who was killed while we were on patrol together, and his dying words were "Look after my boy...".

And the son didn't know the true, heroic nature of his father's death until the old partner filled him on the classified details....
